EMT-Paramedic Program
Sponsored by: Excelsior Springs Area Career Center and Liberty Hospital Consortium for Paramedic Education Ready for an exciting and challenging career as a paramedic? EMT professionals continue advanced education and skills training to perform pre-hospital treatment for medical emergencies. This paramedic course includes classroom hours, laboratory, clinical and field/internship activities which will total approximately 1300 clock hours and includes anatomy and physiology. This course meets or exceeds the content and competency demands of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation-National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Bureau of Medical Services of Missouri. Upon successful completion of this paramedic course, students will be eligible to test with National Registry of EMT (NREMT) for license. ACCREDITATION--

Emergencies, such as car crashes, natural disasters, and acts of violence, will continue to require the skills of EMTs and Paramedics." Articulated College Credit
Articulated Credit is available through North Central Missouri College (NCMC) in Trenton, Missouri. Those students that successfully complete our paramedic program may qualify to articulate up to 30 hours toward an Associate in Applied Science for EMT-Paramedic Health Track or EMT-Paramedic Management Track degrees. How much does the course cost?
Paramedic Program Outcomes CAAHEP Accredited Paramedic Programs and CoAEMSP accreditation programs track and report outcome measures annually to the Committee on Accreditation for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). The most current CoAEMSP Annual Report was for the calendar year 2022. The most recent success rate for the National Registry of EMT Paramedic/State Cognitive exam was 33.3%. The most recent positive placement rate for graduates were 100%. Positive placement is defined by the CoAEMSP as ‘Employed full or part-time in a related field and/or continuing his/her education and/or serving in the military’. Positive placement is measured at completion of the program. The most recent retention rate was 75%. From the 2020 Annual Report, the success rate for the National Registry of EMT Paramedic/State Cognitive exam was 60%. The 2020 positive placement rate for graduates were 100%. The 2020 retention rate was 55.6%. |
Course Hours
Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6p-10p and one Saturday per month from 8a-5p. Clinical and Field Experiences are scheduled separately. The course is approximately 18-24 months depending on individual completion of clinical and field internship requirements. There will be approximately 600 clock hours of in- classroom/lab hours plus clinical and field time. You can expect around 1300 total clock hours to complete the course.
